Summit Oxygen started looking for a modern cost effective solution to the problems of using supplementary oxygen at altitude in early 2001. In the spring of 2003 a prototype system was used by the Royal Navy/Royal Marines Everest North Ridge Expedition. The expedition was a huge success with the team summiting on 23rd May using the Summit Oxygen 'Pulse Dose' system. On summit day the team achieved over 22 hours of endurance from a single 3-ltr oxygen cylinder.
Since then our equipment has been used for a range of other applications including such activities as high altitude search & rescue operations, ballooning and paramotoring.
